Rice Distribution
We have distribution facilities in Ivory Coast and Ghana. We buy rice from all major origin countries (India, Thailand, Vietnam) and ship directly to our distribution centers. The local entities in turn sell rice to a vast network of wholesalers or super markets. Our brands for various rice grades are trademarked for distribution throughout the West African region. We are consistently Top 3 rice importers in Ivory Coast since 2017.
Rice BL sales
We have a key buyer in Burkina Faso who is the country’s second biggest importer of rice and other commodities. We have consistently sold him on average 40,000 MT Indian rice each year from 2017 onwards. More recently sales have been minimal to this buyer because of temporary ban on white rice exports from India.
Raw Cashewnut
Our local entity in Ivory Coast has a dedicated team that can buy raw cashewnuts directly from source in Ivory Coast and Tanzania. Raw cashewnuts are exported directly to processors/traders in India and Vietnam. Besides using our own entity, we also buy from third party suppliers in Guinea and Nigeria. Our cashew sales have been on average $5 million each year since 2016.
Pasta & Sugar
These products form a small portion of our portfolio but have been added for benefit of our key local buyers in Ghana who prefer to receive multiple products from the same reliable importers. We buy spaghetti from Turkey and sugar from Brazil for these key local buyers. While relatively small, both products have combined sales of $2-3 million each year.
Frozen Fish
We have recently added frozen fish to our growing basket of products for both Ghana and Ivory Coast. Goods are bought either directly from suppliers (China, Oman, Morocco) or big global traders based in France, UK and Netherlands. Estimated sales of frozen fish for 2024 will be $5-6 million.
